In this context, the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, in coordination with the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province and the Vietnam Quantum Technology Innovation and Expert Network (VNQuantum), recently organized the Opening Ceremony of the Final Round of the International Hackathon on Quantum Computing for Social Impact 2026 (QC4SG 2026), with the support of domestic and international partners.

The program is organized to connect scientists, corporations, experts, startups, and young talents both domestically and internationally to develop quantum technology solutions for socio-economic goals. More than just an academic playground, the competition is designed under the "training – mentoring – investment connection – incubation" model, aiming to develop ideas into applicable and commercializable projects.
After nearly six months of global launch, the competition has attracted over 500 registrations from 30 countries and territories, marking the largest scale in the region to date. The Organizing Committee has selected the 27 most outstanding teams, with nearly 100 contestants, to participate in the final round in Gia Lai under the guidance of approximately 50 domestic and international experts and mentors.
From July 24 to 28, 2026, the teams will participate in a series of intensive training sessions, technical mentoring, solution development, and product demonstrations before the Jury at Demo Day.
In parallel, the VNQuantum Dealroom will connect teams, research groups, and startups with enterprises, investment funds, and technology partners to promote research cooperation, investment, and the commercialization of potential solutions.

The former Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the core connecting role of the National Innovation Center (NIC), highly appreciated the determination of Gia Lai province in hosting the Gia Lai Quantum Year 2026, and recognized the contributions of VNQuantum and the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in developing the ecosystem and quantum technology research community in Vietnam.
