Bộ Công an phát động chiến dịch 'TinAI?': Lan tỏa thông điệp 'Kiểm trước, tin sau' trong kỷ nguyên số

On the morning of July 31, in Hanoi, the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) held the launch ceremony for the "TinAI?" campaign with the message "Verify before you trust," while also collaborating with the News Department of Vietnam Television to launch the news segment "True-False, Verification."

Delivering the opening remarks, Lieutenant General Le Xuan Minh, Director of the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention, stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is creating profound changes in how people create, access, and disseminate information.

Alongside opportunities for socio-economic development, AI also makes the creation of fake images, videos, voices, and content faster and more sophisticated, blurring the line between truth and falsehood.

According to Lieutenant General Le Xuan Minh, protecting cybersecurity is not just about safeguarding information systems, data, or digital infrastructure, but also about protecting cognitive security, trust, and social stability.

Misinformation, if spread widely, can damage the reputation of individuals, businesses, agencies, and organizations, while also affecting national security, public order, and the sustainable development of the country.

He emphasized that no technology or agency can verify the massive volume of information generated every day. Therefore, the fundamental solution is to build a verification reflex within the community, so that every citizen forms the habit of checking sources, cross-referencing data, and considering before trusting, sharing, or acting on information.

"No matter how much technology changes, the responsibility for information always rests with humans. Every time we verify before trusting, and every time we consider before sharing, it is a practical action to protect ourselves, protect the community, and contribute to building a safe, civilized, and reliable cyberspace," Lieutenant General Le Xuan Minh stressed.

According to Lieutenant General Le Xuan Minh, the "TinAI?" campaign is not just a communication activity but also a call for the entire society to join hands in forming a transparent, safe, and reliable information environment.

He expressed his hope that the campaign would form a widespread network involving regulatory agencies, the press, technology companies, digital platforms, content creators, and the public to build a healthy information ecosystem where the truth spreads faster and trust is built on the foundation of verification.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and General Director of Vietnam Television, stated that in the AI era, alongside digital literacy, every citizen needs to develop an essential civic skill: the reflex to verify information before trusting or sharing it.

Quoting the saying: "A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes," Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam argued that the speed at which fake news spreads is becoming a major challenge for the information environment.

According to him, verification is not only aimed at detecting and refuting misinformation but also contributes to protecting positive values. "We verify not just to expose the bad, but also to protect the good," he emphasized.

The General Director of Vietnam Television also quoted General Secretary To Lam: "A society lacking trust becomes very costly" and "When the right is protected, those who do good will not feel alone." According to him, building a culture of verification is contributing to strengthening social trust in the digital environment.

At the program, the News Department of Vietnam Television, in coordination with the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention force, officially launched the news segment "True-False, Verification," broadcast at 19:55 daily on VTV.

Introducing the segment, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam said the program will provide verification content, analyze issues of public concern, identify tactics used to create and spread fake news, and guide citizens on information verification skills in a visual, concise, and accessible format.

The segment will also regularly update prominent incidents in cyberspace, warn of new fraud trends, and equip citizens with knowledge and tools to proactively protect themselves against fake content created by AI and new technologies.

Within the framework of the event, a seminar themed "Building a verification reflex in the AI era" featured the participation of representatives from regulatory agencies, the press, technology companies, digital platforms, experts, and content creators.

The delegates agreed that preventing fake news in the AI era is not only the responsibility of regulatory agencies or the press but requires the participation of the entire society, in which every Internet user needs to become a "gatekeeper" of information through the habit of verifying before sharing.

According to the Organizing Committee, in the coming time, the "TinAI?" campaign will implement various communication activities on the press, social media, and digital platforms; release videos, infographics, and verification news; and coordinate with localities, educational institutions, technology companies, digital platforms, content creator networks, and social organizations to spread the message "Verify before you trust," contributing to building a safe, transparent, and reliable digital information environment.
